Looking for two roommates for the 2024-2025 academic year for a charming single-family home in downtown Ithaca. The house features 2100 sq. ft. of living space: a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom setup, with an extra room dedicated as a shared office space. The fully equipped, open-plan kitchen connects with the dining room. Flooring includes bamboo, hardwood, and ceramic tile. Amenities include a washer and dryer and one off-street parking spot, with plenty of street parking available. There is also an unfinished basement where we store some things. The home is well maintained, offers plenty of room for all your needs, and has a sweet front porch and a fenced-in yard with a grill for small gatherings and outdoor enjoyment. It’s a 10-min walk to the commons and a short stroll to Wegmans. The landlord is responsive and has always attended to our needs promptly. About me: I’m a fifth-year PhD student in English Literature, originally from Spain, eclectic, easygoing, and extroverted. I’m in my mid-thirties, appreciate all forms of art, and eat all sorts of food. I’ve (happily) lived in this house full-time for the last four years. My current roommates are moving out, and I’d rather stay here than find a new place. In my free time, I like to explore the area, thrift, cook, and chill at home. You can also find me enjoying a good conversation at a dive bar or lost somewhere in nature. I’m clean and tidy, and my ideal roommates would be too. The bedrooms are unfurnished—there might be a full sized bed for sale if you need one. Some of the furniture in the shared spaces will be going with my current roommates. However, I’m currently on the lookout for some stylish and comfy pieces to make the common areas welcoming and homey. If you have any furniture you’d love to bring into our shared spaces, that’d be fantastic. If not, no worries—I’ve got it covered. Ideally, you are also in your thirties, perhaps a postdoc or a young professional. This house would also be a great spot for folks who don’t necessarily live in Ithaca full time but need a comfortable and convenient place to stay when they are in town. What’s important is that you value a clean, organized, and friendly living environment. I’d like for the house to continue being a relaxed and inspiring place where we can all thrive. Each room is $775 per month, part of a total rent of $2,325 split among three roommates. Note: rent may see a small annual increase, but changes are expected to be minimal. Utilities (electric and WiFi) are split three ways, averaging around $50 per person/ month. Water and heat are included, so no extra charges there! Reach out and tell me a little bit about yourself if it sounds like this could be your kind of place.
