Our 100-year old 3-story home is in a diverse, welcoming, socially active, and community-minded historic neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia (Mt. Airy). It is 1/2 mile away from Chestnut Hill, a lively village with many amenities and events. Within a 5-minute walk you can be strolling in the wooded Wissahickon Park along the Cresheim Creek, on a 30-minute train ride to Center City or walking along bustling Germantown Avenue, with its shops, restaurants and bars. There is also easy access to highways that can take you to New York, Washington, DC or the Jersey Shore. The house has a porch and a backyard patio for grilling and relaxing while you enjoy the birds, trees and nature. The architecture in Mt. Airy is interesting, picturesque and unique, and includes a group of Normandy-inspired stone mansions. All bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. One bathroom has a tub and the other has a shower. Our home is a typical Philadelphia two-family twin, attached at the center wall to the home of our quiet, friendly neighbors. We have separate driveways and backyards. On one side, the house is next to a K-8th grade public school and playground, and the other side faces the back lawn and woods of a historic campus. Philadelphia is a fantastic city, the US's 6th largest, with wonderful museums and theaters, significant historic sites, vibrant neighborhoods and world-class restaurants. Lonely Planet named Philadelphia the best U.S. city to visit in 2024.
