Elegant home in Merida

Description

Enjoy our elegant home located in a central neighborhood of Merida, with wide tree-lined streets. Here you will be in walking distance from the Parque de las Americas (two blocks) and one block from Avenida Colon, where there are many transportation options, including the new bus system that can take to the city center. If you have a car, you can reach almost every major attraction within 15-20 minutes. Merida’s two major universities, State and Federal (UADY and UNAM) are within easy access. We also have two bicycles if you feel like venturing out, for example, to the nearby Salvador Alvarado sports complex where you can swim in the Olympic size pool or take classes in every imaginable sport, with a focus on kids. Our house, on a quiet corner shaded by the canopy of a giant Pich tree, has three bedrooms (2 double beds and one single), and two bathrooms. There is a large living room and dining room, tastefully decorated with artwork and antiques, including a large stone serpent head (reproduction!). Next to the kitchen is a breakfast room that looks out onto the garden. The house has WIFI and two televisions. The yard has many fruit trees (bitter orange, banana, lime and camito) and there is a small pool for relaxing. If you have a car, there is ample parking on the street or in the carport. The best space, from our academic perspective, is the office, that was recently built on as an addition. There is air conditioning in the three bedrooms and office, and high ceiling fans in the rest of the house. We have installed solar panels on the roof, that significantly reduce the electric bill.
