Writer's Retreat on Salt Spring Island

Leave the world behind on Salt Spring Island. This property gets sunlight all day via a south facing exposure. It's quiet, lush, and secluded, but not so distant from others that you can't get to groceries, amenities, or a meal. Town is seven minutes by car has everything. The bus runs stops at the end of our driveway. Happy to loan a bike or two too. There is an old farm stand just down the road that has fresh veggies of all types each day. The land is quite storied. It's a hundred year old farm next to a nature reserve. The roaming forest land is full of life. No dangerous wildlife on the island, but lots of birds, flowers, and bumble bees. We grow heritage apples, various types of plums, black walnuts, winter squash, flowers, and all sorts of vegetables. There's a private workspace available (with a standing desk and large monitor) in the pump house, which is rustic but does the trick. The RV is relatively new (2016) and sleeps up to eight (!) but would be most comfortable with two. There are two big bunk beds in addition to the queen size bed so you could have two kids with you if you wanted. It's four seasons so it stays warm in the winter months (e.g., 30,000 BTU heater; double glazed windows; insulated floor plus skirt). We also now have a stunning 30 foot 1968 Airstream Sovereign. Either would be available. The property has mesh/distributed business Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, a pond, outhouse, two greenhouses, a lean-to/outdoor kitchen, barn/garage, and outdoor shower. It's a beautiful and storied island with nature galore, and is an inspiring place for book/paper writing and research, in my experience.
