This is a spectacular new-build apartment, with a private balcony overlooking landscaped gardens, Midsummer common, and direct views of the river. It's an absolute joy to sit outdoors and watch the rowers glide lazily past. The building complex is extremely peaceful and occupied mostly by working professionals, families, and retirees -- there's a vigorous residents' community. You'll have free access to the on-site gym, 24 hour security and concierge, and a locked bike cage. The apartment is only 15 minutes walk from the city center (and a beautiful riverside walk, not along noisy roads). My commute is one of the best things about my day! Close to the Midsummer common, a large Tesco about 10 minutes away, a fabulous pub on the river, and the best Indian restaurant in town. The apartment itself: There's a kitchen with all modern fittings (dishwasher, oven, microwave, induction hobs, fridge/freezer) which opens directly out onto a spacious living room, with a huge TV, piano, extendable dining table (great for hosting!) and, unsurprisingly, a whole wall of books. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite shower, and there is a second bathroom with a bath -- you'll be able to use all of these. The second room is a small study with a sofabed. In the past I have rented this place without access to the second room, where I have stored my personal effects while away, but I'm willing to negotiate depending on your needs. Amenities include: fully furnished kitchen, use of cutlery, browsing rights for my excellent book collection (predominantly Asian history), use of my lovely piano, a fabulous reading chair, a giant TV and DVD player with Chromecast, a great vintage sound system, and more coffee-making facilities than you'll know what to do with. We can also discuss specific cookware which I can leave out for your use, or store them away depending on your preferences.
