This beautiful small apartment is in a quiet, safe and attractive neighborhood near UNC'S main campus, UNC's Medical Hospital/Research Center and downtown Chapel Hill. The apartment comes fully furnished. It's living space includes a living/dining room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and ample closets/ storage space. It is attached to my home but has it's own private entrance that is independent of the main house, is on ground level (i.e. not a basement apartment) and gets ample interior sunlight. It has a dedicated parking place(s). The apartment is perfect for a single person and while small, it also is suitable for a married couple without children. If rented by a couple there is an additional $50 per month rental fee. In addition, if rented by a couple, an adjacent room is available for use as a office in special circumstances. The office adds 150 sq. feet to the existing 525 sq. foot apartment . A $150 cleaning fee is required to be paid by tenant's one month prior to tenant's departure. Location. Specific distances to Medical and Academic Departments at UNC range from 1 mile to 2 miles. Center of downtown Chapel Hill is 2 miles. It is 13 miles to the National Humanities Center in RTP and 9 miles to Duke and 11 miles to NCCU in Durham. Typical Tenant Profile. Most tenants I have had over the last ten years. have been international scholars or researchers on Fellowships at UNC or nearby institutions. The remainder have typically been doctoral candidates at UNC. They have stayed for periods ranging from 6 months to four years. Transportation. While a car is certainly useful, many prior tenants found it unnecessary to have one. The tenants associated with UNC have typically chosen to walk, bike or take the free public bus system to work and visit nearby shops, theaters, restaurants, etc. The bus stop is about 0.8 miles from the apartment. It makes stops at UNC Memorial Hospital, UNC central campus/downtown Chapel Hill and The Friday Center. You can easily transfer to all Chapel Hill area buses from these four stops. Uber and Lift are readily available as well. Utilities. All utilities, plus WIFI are included in the monthly rent. Hiking/ Nature Watching. For those that like to hike/or enjoy nature watching, the N.C. Botanical Garden and Hunt Arboretum have 3 or 4 miles of trails. These trails begin approx. 200 yards from the apartment. Restrictions: No smokers, No pets, Tenant is not allowed to bring his/her own furniture as apartment is fully furnished. References. Landlord requires references from prospective tenants. Landlord will provide references contact information of prior tenants to prospective tenants, if requested.
